Approaching the end of the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge Dubai Finals, the developers of the mobile battle royale have announced a collaboration event featuring Resident Evil 2. A small teaser clip shared in a tweet gives us our first look at the PUBG Mobile and Resident Evil 2 crossover event, check it out:

PUBG Mobile x Resident Evil 2
Tencent’s announcement was very vague and didn’t share a lot of information about the details of the event. The crossover event might result in the addition of a few cosmetics in the form of skins and clothing, or maybe a whole new horror mode based on Resident Evil 2.
A launch date for the event hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Tencent Games says that we can expect to see it “very soon”. Resident Evil 2 by Capcom is due for release on January 25th next year. The remake of the original 1998 survival horror game will improve the visuals, and Capcom will likely release a demo later this month. The Resident Evil 2 event in PUBG Mobile will most likely launch in a similar time frame.
Crossover events like this are not a new sight in the gaming industry. While some events like the Fortnite and Avengers crossover added a whole new game mode, this event, much like the recent Suicide Squad crossover event, will most likely bring limited time cosmetics.
Apart from that, there’s not much to go on, and we expect that the developers will share more information during the full reveal near the end of the PMSC event in Dubai.
