Sony had dominated the console gaming world for quite some time now. If you ignore the sloppiness that the PlayStation 3 exhibited, everything is perfectly orchestrated. Perhaps the PS4 was the great balance of hardcore gaming with the PlayStation 4 Pro and the regular PlayStation. But, when we think about it, the PlayStation, fourth generation, is almost 6 years old.
While the console still holds its own, next-generation games are pouring in and making it difficult for them to keep up. Perhaps Sony realizes that too and have already hinted on the next generation console. We’ll call that the PS5 for now. Recently, representatives have hinted at the expected specs the console would support. While that was stagnant news, Sony has hinted at some more features of the console.

At a strategy meeting, Sony showcased its new console’s load times as compared to the existing PlayStation. According to a report on WinFuture, many journalists attended the event as well. One of the most important personalities was Takashi Mochizuki: Wall Street Journal. According to his report, when the company tested both their consoles side by side, the PS5 came on top by a lot. The latter was a whopping ten times faster. This is quite a feat to achieve when we know this is not even the final product.
My guess is that an SSD would power the storage side of the console. That most certainly is the case and something that is necessary. Perhaps that would also mean faster game loading times as well. Sony knows that creating hype results in a proportional level of sales. Perhaps time will tell what else makes up the next generation of the console. Perhaps we won’t know for quite a while now though so all we can do is wait.
