PS5 Marketing Campaign to Begin Soon, Sony Hiring for “Next-Generation “PlayStation” Campaign

All Aboard the Hype Train!

Over the past few weeks, rumors of a PS5 announcement went into high gear. And now, a new job listing from Sony has added fuel to the fire. It seems that PS5’s marketing campaign would soon begin.

The company is looking for an entrepreneurial Product Lead for its Intelligence Platform Group. The person will be working with various partners, product and engineering, and contribute to the development and growth of the PlayStation Intelligence Platform.

The most interesting aspect of this job listing is the fact that this person would have the roadmap for next-generation PlayStation campaign.

At PlayStation we are working at the frontiers of immersive experiences for our users. We are looking for an entrepreneurial Product Lead to join our Intelligence Platform Group. As part of this hands-on position you would work across Partners, Product and Engineering and contribute to development and growth of PlayStation Intelligence Platform. You will own the roadmap for next-generation PlayStation campaign.

A recent rumor suggested that PlayStation 5 would be announced in early 2019. Sony plans a full reveal at E3 2019. However, industry gurus still see some life left in PlayStation 4 and predict a 2021 release for PS5.

Rival Microsoft has already confirmed Xbox Scarlett back at E3 2018. Seeing Microsoft’s move, Sony may have decided to release its own console early, or at least announce it next year.

Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer, Kenichiro Yoshida, boss of Sony, said: At this point, what I can say is it’s necessary to have a next-generation hardware.

On the other hand, Activision’s job listing pointed to a 2019 release for Xbox Scarlett and PS5. Infinity War is looking for developers to work on a next-generation Call of Duty game and we know, it is Infinity Ward’s turn to release its Call of Duty next year.

All suggestive evidence and nothing official so take this with a grain of salt.
