PS5 Is Only 1.01 Million Units Ahead Of Xbox Series X|S In Sales

Console Wars have been a thing for a long time now. While the console manufacturers do not involve themselves directly in something like ‘Console Wars,’ the gamers and consumers do not hesitate to argue and defend their favorite console on gaming forums and wherever they get a chance.
And with the release of next-gen consoles, the competition between the two most popular console manufacturers, Sony and Microsoft, has also intensified. Both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 provide remarkable performance on next-gen games, and both offer unique features but do not put one ahead of the other, at least in terms of hardware performance.
And it all comes down to personal preference with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. And this could be the reason why there is not much difference in the sales of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S after 25 months of their release in the United States. According to a new report by VGChartz, Xbox Series X|S has sold over 9.32 million units.

In comparison, PlayStation 5 has sold over 10.32 million units in the United States since its release in November 2020. Surprisingly, PlayStation has been leading the console market for decades, and close competition like this has not been witnessed before. There are a few possible explanations for why the two consoles are selling at a similar pace.
Firstly, it could be because both consoles are equally popular, and gamers choose to purchase either. Secondly, it could be because of the PS5 availability issues, so gamers looking forward to getting the new PlayStation are instead opting for the Xbox console.
However, it is good that the tech giants are giving healthy competition to each other in the gaming market. In the end, close competitors like this work in the consumers’ interest, and companies make their products more convenient. According to VGChartz, PlayStation 5 is only 1.01 million units ahead of the Xbox Series X|S in terms of sales in the United States. It will be interesting to see what outcome this competition will generate in the future.
