[Update: Now Official] Free PlayStation Plus Games for August Have Leaked: Tony Hawk and Yakuza Fans Rejoice

Update: Sony has officially announced the free PS Plus monthly games for August 2022 and it reflects the leak below. Once again, the leaker was right, adding another hit to their portfolio.

As is tradition, just days before Sony officially reveals next month’s lineup of free PlayStation Plus games, renowned leaker billbil-kun over on Dealabs has come forward and spilled the beans themselves. For those of you living under a rock, this leaker has predicted free PS Plus games accurately every single month, for nearly the past year.

Getting down to business, August’s lineup is looking like one of the best we’ve gotten in recent memory. With blockbuster games headlining the list and an indie darling to provide the assist, I say fans of all kinds will be elated with the free games coming to PlayStation Plus Essential tier next month.

The three games part of PlayStation Plus Essential for the month of August are Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, Yakuza: Like A Dragon, and Little Nightmares. Told you it’s a good lineup.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon | PS4 & PS5

Level up from underdog to dragon in this action RPG. Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking grunt of a low-ranking Yakuza family in Tokyo, returns to society after serving 18 years for a crime he didn’t commit. Uncover the truth behind his family’s betrayal while exploring–and fighting–your way across a modern-day Japanese city. Build a party from a ragtag group of society’s outcasts, spending time with them to unlock new abilities and combo skills. Take time off from your quest to immerse yourself in go-karting, arcade games or 50 substories.

Other details

With the new games coming to PS Plus Essential soon, this will be your last chance to download the free games for July 2022. Those include Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Man of Medan and Arcadegeddon, all of which are going to be available till August 2nd, 2022.

So, even if you’re not interested in either of these titles but have PS Plus, it’s still recommended to simply add these games to your library. Perhaps, one day your mind may change and all you’ll have to do is install them as they wait patiently in your library. As a reminder, PS Plus Extra and Premium members will get an additional set of games on top of everything included in the base tier (Essential).
