Ubisoft’s Upcoming “Project U” Gameplay Leaked Showcasing Combat Mechanics

Ubisoft announced ‘Project U’ last month and revealed where they are headed with this game:

Codename “Project U” explores a new concept of session-based co-op shooter, where many players unite to prevail against an overwhelming threat!”

Ubisoft also announced that a PC-only closed playtest will be organised for the game from October 14th to October 15th. According to industry insider @TomHendreson, the playtest will be 4 hours long each day.

The PC requirements for the playtest were also made public.

The closed playtest for the game started today, and apparently, a ‘welcome’ video from the event is now on the internet. Reliable leaker @just4leaks2 tweeted a short video from Project U’s closed playtest.

The video doesn’t reveal much, only some brief shots of the action and environment of the game and but some basic information is disclosed by creative director Damien Kieken:

U stands for Unite, he said.

We’ve been working passionately for several years now on this project, where we aim to do something a little bit different in the co-op shooter genre, and we’re so happy that we can finally have you play the build with us.”

The leaked video also confirms that Project U is in development at Ubisoft Annecy.

No other valuable information about the session-based Co-op is revealed, but we hope that more insights and feedback will be released after the closed playtest has concluded.

We will keep you posted about any further information about Project U. Until then, let us know if you are excited about this new game by Ubisoft.
