Jon Prosser has been on top of all the iPhone 12 leaks and rumors. It hasn’t been long since we found out that the iPhone 12 would have a smaller notch than the ones in the previous devices. Meanwhile, it was only this week that we saw a report from WSJ that confirmed delays in iPhone 12’s manufacturing. This time though, Jon just tweeted about the reported pricing for the upcoming lineup from Apple.
It has been in the reports that the iPhone Pro models would be more expensive due to components such as the LiDAR sensor and 5G. It could be expected too since it was Apple which broke the $1000 mark with its iPhone XS Max. Now though, we look at Jon Prosser’s tweet and see what he has to say.
As the reports previously stated, Apple would be going for four new models this time around. These would be two for the lower-end iPhone 12 and the two higher-end iPhone 12 Pro models.
Now, given that Jon Prosser has had quite accurate claims and leaks in the past, it is a bit safe to assume his sources are legit. According to him, the budget iPhone 12s would be starting at $649 for the 5.4-inch model and $749 for the 6.1-inch one. Both these would have OLED panels and 5G modems. As for the iPhone 12 Pro, the 6.1-inch model would run at $999 and the 6.7-inch, $1099.
While the higher-end ones have a specific market, the lower-end ones actually peak my interest. Before, people had issues (on paper) with the screen on the iPhone 11. This time with the 12, they have fixed that. Packed with better battery life, amazing specs, camera, these two devices would definitely give budget flagship Android phones a run for their money. Given that it has a higher price tag now, people will definitely be indifferent.
