Diablo, the action role-roleplaying hack and slash game that we all love might be finally getting a new addition to its line of games. 29th June 2000, that’s the date when Blizzard came out with Diablo 2, the game that captivated thousands of gamers all across the world and is almost always the part of any list that titles itself something along the lines of “The top 50 games of all time.”.
The game was seemingly perfect to whoever played it. There was action, gore, mythical beasts, weapons and an extremely appetizing story line that kept on giving and giving with a difficulty level that was not considered ‘easy’ back in the day either.
The successor in the series, Diablo 3, too was a super-hit video game on its own and while it has received countless mixed reviews and ratings, it’s still a fan favorite by Blizzard. Diablo 3 came out in 2012, yes it has been that long. More than 6 years have the fans waited for a game to join the line of the amazing Diablo series and we might finally have a name that we can put on these hopes and expectations.
Recently Blizzard put out some new merchandise on their website with the name of “Diablo Reign of Terror” including 2 shirts and a poster with the Diablo logo and the demon himself on these merch and we don’t think this is a co-incidence given that BlizzCon is right around the corner and will be held on 2nd November in Anaheim, California. We might just see an official teaser from Blizzard on Diablo 4, or atleast find out what “Diablo Reign of Terror” actually is. This news was sourced from the resertera forum, which you can check out here.
An interesting fact to note is that in Diablo 2 the third and final quest of Act IV, which was the final act in the original game, is named ‘Terror’s End’ where we had to defeat the main antagonist of the game, Diablo himself. This might have a connection with the new title that we have with us now as we know that Diablo was described as the ‘Terror who stalks Hell’ by the Sorceress class.
We really hope that we can get some more clarity on this during BlizzCon 2018 as we have some really high expectations with Blizzard and the Diablo franchise itself.
