The Pocophone F1, which came out in August last year, still remains among the most popular mid-range Android smartphones in several emerging markets. Owners of the smartphone can now look forward to an improved gaming experience as Pocophone has introduced a new Game Turbo feature.
For now, the new Game Turbo feature is only available for MIUI Global Beta users. If you have already signed up for MIUI Global Beta, you can download the latest update and access the feature in the MIUI Security app. While no specific date has been confirmed by the brand, the feature is expected to be available as part of the next MIUI Global Stable ROM soon.
The new Game Turbo feature is aimed at enhancing the gaming experience on the device. Similar to the GPU Turbo feature on Huawei smartphones, the Game Turbo mode will optimize the POCO F1’s CPU and GPU for smooth performance. Additionally, the Game Turbo feature will allow users to clear memory, take screenshots, toggle Wi-Fi on and off, switch between SIM cards, and record their screen when playing a game without having to leave the game.
That’s not all, though. Pocophone F1 users will also be able to continue using apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook or browse the web while playing a game. Similar to the Game Mode feature offered by a few other Android OEMs, Pocophone will allow users to have a floating window open within a game. Needless to say, however, this may prove to be quite distracting for some users. In the future, Pocophone is likely to enable some more apps to run in floating window mode.
Apart from announcing the new Game Turbo feature, Pocophone also introduced a price cut for the POCO F1 in India. The 6GB + 128GB version of the POCO F1 will be available for INR 20,999 from March 25th – March 28th. No such discount has been announced for the 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 256GB versions of the phone.
