PlayStation 5 Price Announced, Disc Edition $499 and Digital Edition $399

Releasing on November 19 Worldwide

Sony has just announced the PlayStation 5 Price In its new event. The PlayStation 5 Disc Edition will cost $499/£499.99. While the Digital Edition will be sold at $399.99/£399.99.

Both Consoles have now also gotten a release date. For US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. PlayStation 5 will release on November 12. For the rest of the world, PlayStation 5 will release on November 19th.

The announcement also mentioned that the “Availability in each country is subject to local Import Regulations. The PS5 launch date for China is still under exploration and will be announced at a later day.”

The price looks super good, I think everybody saw it coming. The Digital Edition is $100 expensive than its rival Xbox Series S. However, looking at the specification difference, the extra $100 might be well well worth it.

Update #1: Sony has just tweeted out that, Pre-orders for PS5 will start as early as tomorrow. Don’t expect them to be available at your local shops though. Sony highlights that PS5 pre-orders will only be available at “Select retailers“. Select Retailers are popular distributors like Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, and many others.
