PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the most popular battle royale game, just received a significant update. Update 20 is now live for the PC version of PUBG and adds the Beryl M762 weapon, a scooter vehicle, and a number of game improvements.
Aimed to be an alternative to the AKM, the Beryl M762 is a 7.62mm powered assault rifle that can be found on Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. Due to its high fire rate and lower bullet damage, the Beryl M762 offers greater DPS than the AKM. In terms of attachments, the weapon has room for scopes, grips and magazine extensions.
While motorbikes can be found on Erangel and Miramar, the new two-seat Scooter has replaced the motorbike on Sanhok. Although it has the same number of health points as the motorbike, the scooter has lower speed and an increased turning circle.
The three wheeler Tukshai has been delayed till September because of ‘high priority development tasks.’
Last week, developers of PUBG officially launched their ‘Fix PUBG’ campaign which aimed to improve the user experience. Although the previous update 19 brought a number of game improvements, today’s update 20 contains a large amount of quality of life changes and bug fixes.
Starting off with quality of life changes, the reporting system has been improved allowing players to report teammates and deathcam targets. Once action is taken against an offendor, anyone who reported them will be notified about their punishment and its status. Accessible in the settings menu, the third person perspective camera position can now be customized to your liking. Items on the ground are now easier to distinguish due to the new highlighted outline surrounding targeted entities.
Some other quality of life changes include the improvements of map markers on the mini-map, a key guide on loading screens and additions to custom game settings. For the full list of patch notes including a long list of bug fixes, check out the update announcement post.
