Exclusive Early Access: Play Mortal Kombat 1 at EVO 2023
Exciting news for Mortal Kombat fans! The highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1 will be available for public play for the very first time at EVO 2023! EVO 2023 will take place from August 4th to 6th, 2023, at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV.
Mortal Kombat 1 introduces players to a fresh and captivating world crafted by the Fire God Liu Kang. The game serves as a reboot for the long-standing fighting series. It boasts an all-new fighting system, and brutal gameplay accompanied by breathtaking visuals that are more striking than ever before.
You won’t have to wait too long to get your hands on it, as Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release on September 19, 2023, exclusively on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms, leaving behind the last-gen consoles.
Players who purchase the Premium or Kollector’s Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 will have early access starting from September 14, while a closed beta in August will be available for all pre-order customers. The console versions of the game will retail for $70, while the PC and Nintendo Switch versions will cost $60. Additionally, the Premium Edition is priced at $110 and an extravagant Kollector’s Edition comes with a whopping price tag of $250.
Although NetherRealm has only revealed a partial list of characters for Mortal Kombat 1, the initial announcement trailer showcased nine iconic fighters. The studio promises that each of these characters will be reimagined, both in terms of their stories and fighting styles.
The confirmed character list for Mortal Kombat 1 includes familiar faces such as Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Kitana, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Mileena, Raiden, Scorpion, and Shang Tsung (as a pre-order exclusive). Furthermore, there are some iconic kameo characters in the game, including Goro, Kano, Kung Lao, Jackson “Jax” Briggs, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Stryker, and Sub-Zero.
