Google’s Pixel series has been one of the most successful device lineup. Although the Pixel 3 wasn’t that much of a success, Google is all set to launch more devices. This time though, Google will be targeting the mid-range segment.
The devices, called the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite have been rumored for quite some time now. The latter was spotted in Geekbench database recently, sporting Snapdragon 710. The specifications are yet to be out, but there is some information regarding the two devices.
As My Smart Price reports, “The smaller of the two upcoming Pixel handsets, which is likely to be called the Pixel 3 Lite or Pixel 3a, bears the model number G020B. On the other hand, the Pixel 3 Lite XL or Pixel 3a XL carries the model number G020F.” The smartphones will obviously be manufactured by Foxconn. My Smart Price also added that they can confirm that the phone will be launching in India. The pricing is speculated to be below the 40,000 INR mark.
Given the competition in the price segment, it might be difficult to say whether Google will be able to properly capitalize on it. However, the specifications will be the deciding factor. If we go with recent rumors, the devices will be sporting SD 670 & 710 respectively.
Apart from that, both are likely to be packed with 4GB of RAM under the hood. Pixel 3 Lite & Pixel 3 XL Lite are codenamed Sargo and Bonito respectively and will have Android Pie out of the box. More specifications are yet to be known. Decent horsepower under the hood might make the devices the next big thing in the budget segment.
