Rumors about the development of a Persona 3 Remake have been circulating on the internet since last year. In September 2022, a user named lolilolailo on the gaming forum ResetEra claimed that both Persona 3 Portable Remastered/Re-release and Persona 3 Remake were in development.
Interestingly, one of these claims turned out to be true when Persona 3 Portable was re-released on modern platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC (Steam).
In addition to these rumors, an alleged footage of the Persona 3 Remake was shared by a Twitter user named @AVtoGAMEnoYAMI. The user claimed that the footage was from an internal SEGA meeting. However, fans treated the leak with skepticism as the gameplay seemed too good to be true. It’s worth noting that the Twitter account has since been deleted.
Recently, an update in the domain P3RE.JP, which has previously been associated with the Persona 3 Remake, has sparked renewed interest in the rumors. According to personacentral.com, similar updates were observed for the domain “P5T“, as well as for other domains associated with the Persona franchise like Persona Q2, Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, Catherine: Full Body, and Persona 5 Royal before their respective official announcements and teasers.
Many reputable leakers have confirmed the existence of a Persona 3 Remake and believe that its official announcement is imminent following the domain changes. Furthermore, a Twitter user and leaker, @MbKKssTBhz5 claims that the title for the Persona 3 Remake is ‘Reload’ and it is slated for release in Winter 2023.
The discussion surrounding these rumors is heated, as a Persona 3 Remake is highly anticipated by fans. If the claims and rumors turn out to be true, it is expected that Atlus will make an official announcement in the next few days. Probably at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 11th, 2023.
