Registry Editor is the brain of a computer with 100’s of instructions and settings. It has all the registered settings for all your programs, therefore it is important to back up registry before making any changes. The reason why it should be back up is if in case you delete a wrong registry key and as a result you run into other issues, you can immediately restore the registry keys from your back up.
To backup registry, after opening it, Click File -> Export, name the registry file, eg: backupreg and click Save. To import / restore from backup, open registry editor again, click File -> Import, and select the file you exported earlier which is your back up.

2. Type regedit and click OK
