2020 was perhaps the best year for OnePlus. The company released its first true flagship in the form of OnePlus 8 Pro. It was also the first time the company released its first mid-range series under the new OnePlus Nord brand. OnePlus has released three devices in the new series up till now. These include the original Nord, Nord N10, and Nord N100. The later devices further dropped the prices while stripping features out of the devices.

Now, after three devices it seems OnePlus is reportedly working on another mid-range device for the Nord series. According to an exclusive leak from Android Authority, the upcoming device in the Nord series may be called the OnePlus Nord N1 5G. It will reportedly be a follow-up to the Nord N10 so, the asking price for the device may be under the $400 mark.
The OnePlus Nord N10 offered a plastic shell, 90Hz display, and a very capable Snapdragon 690 SoC powered by a 4300mAh battery. While these specifications do look okay for a mid-range device, the performance left a lot to be desired. OnePlus Nord N1 5G would need to overcome the shortcoming of its predecessor to make its mark in the most competitive segment of the market.
It is worth mentioning that the release of the OnePlus 9 series is around the corner. At the same time, the OnePlus Nord N10 is yet to complete its first year in the market. So, it is reasonable to assume that the Nord N1 5G is still weeks if not months away. We shall keep you posted once more information regarding these devices is released.
