OnePlus to Release it’s Smart TV in September, Might Include OLED Models In The Line-Up

OnePlus entered the market almost nine years ago, back in 2013. Entering the market with the OnePlus One, the idea of the brand was to roll the flagship specs of that time into a budget friendly body. Even today, while the price for the One Plus 7 Pro doesn’t quite put it into the “budget” category, the smart phone is one of the cheapest ones in the market, as far as specs are concerned.

For quite some while now, the company is looking into entering the smart television market. This would not be much of a challenge as a lot of Chinese manufacturers such as TCL are market leaders. The entry point for the company would be the idea of introducing budget friendly TVs. What would set it aside though would be the brand name the company has established for itself. While these were just rumours before, full of uncertainty, all of that is going to change.

According to a Tweet by Ishan Agarwal, the Chinese smart phone giant is looking for a release this coming September. According to the tweet, the release is set to take place between the 25th and 30th of September while an anonymous source confirms it to be on the 26th. OnePlus’s product is expected to be available in different screen sizes and at a very reasonable price. The blogger continues to tag Mysmartprice‘s article about the television and details related to it. While this would not be much of feat in China, in other countries such as India and the US, the product would definitely set it aside from the competition. Rumors suggest that the remote control would be using Bluetooth 5.0 technology and would be powered by OnePlus’ custom software for the smart portion of the television. As details continue to roll, stay tuned for updates regarding the product.
