Today, in the market, we have a lot of fitness products. From headphones to wearables, we can see them everywhere. While some companies incorporate these with smartwatches, others made special bands. Companies like FitBit are focused on making fitness appropriate bands. Now, we have a lot of companies in it. Xiaomi, the Chinese giant, makes one of the best, low-cost fitness bands. These are the MiBands. OnePlus, a company which entered the smartphone realm with its low-cost phones has decided to enter the space as well. According to this tweet from Ishan Agarwal, the company would be introducing its fitness band soon.
The OnePlus Band
Now, according to the tweet, in the coming week, the company would be launching the OnePlus Band in India. This does seem like an appropriate market. The company has been doing good business in the region. Not to mention, they have good prices that resonate with the consumers.
As for the specs, the OnePlus Band would come with a 24/7 HR monitor. This would be coupled with sensors to measure SpO2 saturation as well. This is actually a pretty nifty addition given the COVID-19 situation. Apple recently added this to the Apple Watch Series 6 as well. The watch would have a 1.1-inch AMOLED display and it would be IP68 water-resistant. That makes sense since it is geared towards workouts. On that note, it would also have support for about 13 exercise modes. Powering it would be a battery which may run the device for about 14 days.
Clearly, this device is competing with the Xiaomi MiBand 5. Offering a little more features, we believe it would share a similar design language. Not to mention, Ishan claims that it would come in at INR 2,499. This is on the same price level as the former. We would see the watch come out on January 11th.
