One Plus 6 has been one of the first devices to bring Android 9 Pie at a consumer level with their Open Beta for the platform. One Plus just released a new patch for the Open Beta, and as you’d expect from a new patch the Build Number A6003_22_180915 Beta 3 has its fair share of bug fixes, in addition, it has introduced a few feature enhancements to the platform.
With this patch, all the talk is about Google Assistant being functional. Along with that OnePlus Gestures are also enabled. In synergy, the Google Assistant can be triggered using the power button on the device by holding it for a brief period. Although the functionality for it isn’t the best it, the feature seems quite promising in this test build. It does not appear to mess with using the button to lock the device but when holding it to power the phone off the Google Assistant does pop up, but it is hoped this will be fixed by the time the final launch will arrive.
The patch notes also mentioned that this gesture is not only limited to the Google Assistant, other third-party android assistants can be set to work with this hotkey.
OnePlus Switch v2.1.0 also comes with this patch, bringing with it a manual connection mode for transferring application data, home screen layouts and all other data pertaining to the device. The long awaited Google Play Certification has still not arrived with this patch meaning not all applications will install or function properly. The patch also brought the September 5th security patch with it.
