One of Apple’s OLED Manufacturer For iPhone 12 Fails To Meet Standards
Apple’s iPhone saga continues to baffle everyone. While a recent report did claim that the company would be on track for the iPhone 12 launch, it is still unsure when mass production will begin. The entire COVID-19 pandemic has crippled the industry in more ways than one. It is also interesting that Apple is still in its testing phases for the hardware, albeit, it is coming to an end soon. A tweet from Appleinsider gives us insight into what is going wrong now.

According to the article attached to the tweet, BOE was one of the companies Apple had contracted to manufacture OLEDs for the upcoming iPhone. According to the report, the company isn’t looking so sweet. BOE has started testing and sort of failed to live up to the standard required by the company. Not only that, Samsung was also involved with the company as well and they have rejected these standards too. That doesn’t look good at all. Coming to Apple, the company that has a crucial deadline to meet for its devices. As mentioned previously, they have still not started mass production. It may start somewhere in July but before that, all the components need to be tested, ready and available.
This doesn’t look that bad for Apple though. Companies often opt for multiple manufacturers to make components for them. In the past, Apple has used both Samsung and LG produced panels and it is safe to assume that a large chunk of the order would still go to them. Let’s hope this roadblock doesn’t hinder the production process or cause any other issues.
