NYXI Launched No-Drift GameCube Styled Joy-Pad for Switch

NYXI, best known for its third-party Nintendo Switch Joy-cons and controllers, has just dropped its latest Switch controller inspired by the iconic WaveBird Wireless Controller for the Gamecube called NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-Pad

However, NYXI Wizard comes with anti-drift thumb sticks thanks to its electromagnetic Hall Effect Sensors instead of the traditional potentiometers that are prone to wear and tear over time. Hall effect sensors are superior to potentiometers in every way possible. Hall effect sensors do not use physical contact points to register a movement, unlike the widely used potentiometers that use carbon rubber pads.

Hall effect sensors are more efficient and provide a smooth experience as they are designed to have little to no dead zones giving that extra control and accuracy to FPS gamers. Many third-party switch controller manufacturers have recently launched their controllers rocking Hall effect sensors; Gulikit, 8bitdo, and now NYXI joining the bandwagon.

NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-Pad will cost you $69, and the other features it offers can be seen below (as per the NYXI website).

  • The preferred gamepad for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  • Hall effect joystick, with no drifting
  • Designed for performance ZR/ZL buttons, are quieter, lighter, have less resistance, and have shorter trigger distances to help you shoot faster. ABXY buttons have white light effects and a comfortable feel for an enhanced gaming experience.
  • Removable joysticks and replaceable joysticks ring
  • Ergonomic, non-slip design
  • Wireless connection and long-lasting performance
  • Adjustable Turbo & Mapping Function
  • One-Key Wake-Up & Screenshot Function

For many reasons, it is an interesting controller if you are a Smash Bros. enthusiast or a retro gamer who misses that retro feel in the latest consoles. Furthermore, Switch Joy-cons have had a massive drifting problem since the release of Nintendo Switch, and many say that it is due to a design flaw.

Considering that, NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-Pad could be an ideal replacement to permanently eliminate all the drifting issues (or that’s what Hall effect sensors are known for).
