ESports have evolved from being just a hobby to being a very competitive thing, throughout the world that is. With the growth of this field, there have been an increase in MVPs and celebrities from the eSports world. People like Shroud and Ninja have dominated the online community with their streams on Twitch, focusing on games like Fortnite, PubG and Apex Legends.
For these streamers, streaming their gameplay is a source of their livelihood and therefore they may use or create different ways to spice up the experience for their fans. NVIDIA has come out with just what they may need to get on the next level. According to a report by Engadget, NVIDIA has recently announced its latest technology: the RTX Broadcast Engine. This engine is powered by Tensor Cores on RTX GPUS. What this means is that streamers will now be able to use the feature RTX Greenscreen AI. It is an artificially powered green screen system that would capture footage in real-time from the streamer’s webcam and automatically separate the player from the background. This would allow the users to add different effects or backgrounds to the streamer’s personal window.
This is not something new. Many streamers made use of green screens to liven their streams up. They often set the theme too. What really sets this concept aside is the idea that users will be using the same effects but without the green screen. This is where the RTX AI system takes over ever so perfectly. Similarly, the company has added an SDK for its RTX AR features which are quite similar to how Animojis or AR Emojis work. The company is currently working with OBS and other companies to integrate the services better, which NVIDIA will showcase at Twitchcon in the next couple of days.
