It’s been just a few days since the Nokia 8.1 was released and there are already rumors surfacing regarding the Nokia 8.1 Plus. The Nokia 8.1’s retail price of €399 places it firmly in mid-range smartphone territory. Similarly, the flagship Nokia 9 PureView’s rumored price tag of €799 means not everybody will be able to afford it. The Nokia 8.1 Plus is supposed to fill the gap in between these 2 price points.
Nokia 8.1 Plus rumors
Unlike Nokia’s most recent device’s which featured the notch, the Nokia 8.1 Plus will supposedly feature a punch-hole display, like the Samsung A8 and the Huawei Nova 4.
The device will measure at 156.9 x 76.2 x 7.9mm in size, and will feature a 6.22 inch display as per the leak. The 6.22 inch display will be accompanied by tiny bezels on the top and on the sides, with a slim chin below. The display is rumored to rock a Full HD+ resolution.
The back of the phone features a vertical dual camera setup with a ZEISS Optics branding and a dual-LED flash. It also features a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. It’s pretty disappointing to see that the device will not be coming with a under-display fingerprint scanner. But on the bright side, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack present on the top of the phone and it will come with stock Android 9 Pie straight out of the box. The bottom of the device features a bottom-firing speaker and a USB Type-C port.
Unfortunately, that’s all the specifications we know as of now. The phone is expected to be released next month at MWC 2019 alongside a number of other Nokia-branded devices.
