Nintendo Reveals All-New 2D Super Mario Game: Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Nintendo has recently unveiled an exciting addition to the Super Mario franchise, introducing a brand new 2D side-scrolling game called Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The game was officially announced during the latest Nintendo Direct event, and fans can look forward to its release on October 20. Along with Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Nintendo has also unveiled the remake of the classic Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, titled Super Mario RPG.

Super Mario Bros Wonder brings a fresh twist to the classic side-scrolling formula by incorporating a unique add-on known as the Wonder Flower. Each stage in the game undergoes a transformation when players come into contact with this magical flower.

As a result, pipes might come to life, hordes of enemies could suddenly appear, and even characters might undergo surprising visual changes. This unpredictability adds an exciting element of surprise to the gameplay.

In addition to the Wonder Flower, Nintendo has also introduced a delightful new power-up in the form of an elephant-shaped fruit. When Mario consumes this fruit, he transforms into an Elephant.

This imaginative power-up not only alters Mario’s appearance but also grants him unique abilities. Super Mario Bros Wonder also has local co-op functionality for up to four players. This means that friends and family can join forces and embark on this captivating adventure together.

Nintendo has confirmed that players will have a selection of characters to choose from, including the iconic Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, and Daisy. Additionally, the mention of “more characters may be unlockable” hints at the possibility of unlocking even more beloved characters as players progress through the game.

The official description of Super Mario Bros Wonder from Nintendo states, “Super Mario Bros Wonder, the next evolution of 2D side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. games is headed to Nintendo Switch.”
