In a recent development, Nicola Sebastiani, the Vice President and head of the mobile gaming division at PlayStation Studios. However, the reason for his departure has not been disclosed yet. Sebastiani played a pivotal role in establishing PlayStation’s mobile team after the division was formed in July 2021. During his tenure, he was instrumental in Sony’s acquisition of Savage Game Studios.
Before joining PlayStation, Sebastiani spent nearly eight years at Apple, where he held various key positions. Initially, he led the business management team and later transitioned into the role of head of content for Apple Arcade. Prior to his time at Apple, Sebastiani contributed to the gaming industry in a product management role at Ubisoft.
The departure of Nicola Sebastiani leaves an important vacancy in PlayStation’s mobile division. However, the company wasted no time in addressing this change, as two individuals have stepped up to fill the leadership void. According to their LinkedIn profiles, Kris Davies and Olivier Courtemanche have become co-heads of the mobile division at PlayStation Studios, just like Kendall and Roman Roy assumed the positions of Co-CEOs after Logan Roy in the TV series Succession.
Kris Davies joined PlayStation in April 2022 as the senior director and head of mobile business development. He brought extensive experience in areas like business development, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and strategic partnerships, acquired during his time at Kabam, Beeline Interactive, and Capcom.
Olivier Courtemanche also joined PlayStation in April 2022 as the senior director and head of mobile product. Previously in a product management role at Meta (formerly Facebook), Courtemanche has gained valuable experience at gaming companies such as EA, Disney, and Zynga.
