New Update Released For Windows 10 Version 1903, Fixes Only One Bug

Windows 10 version 19H1’s release is right around the corner. It’s widely speculated that Microsoft will be naming the update the ‘Windows 10 April 2019 Update’. However, this has to be taken with a grain of salt since Microsoft hasn’t really confirmed the name as of yet.

The first preview of this version of Windows was released to Insiders who were part of the Skip Ahead Ring on July 25, 2018. Ever since then, Microsoft has released several updates for this version to insiders and today they have again released another update which addresses and fixes only two bugs. Microsoft also acknowledges that there are some issues within the new update as well.

Windows 10 Build 18362

As previously mentioned, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Build 18362 to Insiders who are part of the Fast Ring. Only two bug fixes were addressed in the update. Previously, there was an issue that resided within the Connect app. The issue in question caused some users to experience unexpected launch crashes. Microsoft stated that they have fixed the issue in the new update. Microsoft has also addressed an issue where Microsoft Store apps were not updating automatically. They did not technically fix the bug, however, they gave users a workaround the bug.

Microsoft Stated, “Microsoft Store app updates do not automatically install on 18356+. As a workaround, you can manually check for, and install updates via the Microsoft Store app. Open Select “…” > “Downloads and updates” > “Get updates”.

Microsoft also acknowledged that the update still has some issues that accompany it.

This is a list of the known issues within the new Windows 10 Build 18362 :

  • launching games that use anti-cheat software may trigger a bugcheck (GSOD).
  • Creative X-Fi sound cards are not functioning properly. We are partnering with Creative to resolve this issue.
  • Some Realtek SD card readers are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.
  • If you install any of the recent builds from the Fast ring and switch to the Slow ring, optional content such as enabling developer mode will fail. You will have to remain in the Fast ring to add/install/enable optional content. This is because optional content will only install on builds approved for specific rings.

The new Update is expected to launch in the upcoming month of April. The update will supposedly introduce tons of new features and improvements. Looking to upgrade to the upcoming update? learn all about the Windows 10 version 19H1 here.
