Fallout 76 modders have already started dishing out mods that improve visuals, add new content, and bring much needed quality of life changes. ‘Ultimist’s High Detailed Map’ mod for the game retextures the stale-looking and colorless in-game map. The mod aims to improve the in-game maps’ colors, contrast, saturation, and give it a better overall look.
The High Detailed Map mod for Fallout 76 increases the map resolution from 4k to 8k, and adds an “authentic old paper” texture. Despite the high resolution, the default in-game map can look colorless and blurry at times, especially when zoomed in. The modded version of the in-game map is comparatively more vibrant and does not pixelate when zooming in.
If you are someone who prefers a less saturated look, mod creator Ultimist has uploaded different versions with varying levels of saturation. Seven colorized versions using “ROY-G-BIV standard colors based on absolute sRGB values” are also available to download.
Ultimist’s High Detailed Map can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, where the modder has shared installation instructions for all the different versions of the mod.
