New Facebook Messenger Design Rolled Out To Some Users, Light Theme Introduced

Third-party Functions Moved Into Explore Tab

A new Facebook Messenger design was announced at the  F8 conference in May 2018 and that was a long time ago and we have yet to see this new update. It seems that some people have got the new Facebook Messenger design and that it will be rolling out in an upcoming update.

The interesting thing to note here is that the people that did get the new Facebook Messenger design, did not update the application themselves. This might be an indication that this was pushed from the server side but are not sure of the details as of right now.

We do have some images of the new design and it seems that there will be a light theme. There are a few new elements here and there are we do get an overall clean look. Other than that, something that pops up is that the third-party features like games have been moved to a new explore tab.

The new Facebook Messenger design is an attempt to make things a bit more streamlined and a bit cleaner. That is the goal of the design from what we can see right off the bat. Facebook seems to have their vision in order as we can see that things are indeed a bit tidy.

The interesting thing to see now is how users are going to react to this new update. Usually, when popular apps get new visuals, people are not pleased because they get accustomed to certain things and knowing where the different icons are. For better or for worse, the update will be coming out soon and we will learn what people think about it in the upcoming few days.

The release date is still not known so we are not sure exactly when the new Facebook Messenger design will be rolled out so stay tuned for more information and updates regarding when you will be able to check out the new design. From what I can see here, I think that it might take a bit of getting used to and that people will be fine with the new design.
