Computex 2018 brings us the new Asus ZenBook S Ultrabook. The laptop comes in a sleek design and is very thin. Inside the laptop, you get the 8th generation Intel Core i7-8550U with 8 GB of RAM. The 13.3-inch screen has a 4K resolution which is great keeping in mind that it is 2018 and 4K is coming into the mainstream now.
For storage, you have a 256GB PCIe SSD and while we do not have much information about the device, it is possible that you will be able to double the storage when the Asus ZenBook S is launched. Talking about connectivity, you get two USB 3.1 Type-C ports and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Thunderbolt will come in handy if you are interested in hooking up and external graphics card to the Asus ZenBook S in the future.
Type-C ports are becoming very common now, Asus products are featuring Type-C ports. We have seen headphones as well that come with Type-C. The new ROG gaming phone also comes with a Type-C port. While we do not know when this laptop will be hitting the market or how much it will cost, it is safe to assume that it will be around the $1000 mark, at least that is what our sources tell us.
The hinge design seems to be a bit off, the screen seems to slide down, below the base a bit and while that is great for typing, it is odd and some people might not like that. This is something worth looking into if you are in the market for a new laptop and are interested in getting the Asus ZenBook S when it comes out. Stay tuned for more information regarding the notebook.
Ultrabooks are getting pretty powerful these days and come in a variety of options. While the Asus ZenBook S does not have a graphics card and you won’t be able to game on it, it is great for media consumption and getting work done on the move.
Let us know what you think about the Asus ZenBook S and whether or not this is something that you are interested in getting for yourself.
