Microsoft Outlook Calendar All Set for New AI Features

Microsoft has filed for new patents regarding Outlook Calendar

Artificial Intelligence is taking over the world by storm. And Microsoft seems to follow the trend as well. The company is now looking to revamp its Outlook in order to improve its overall performance. A new patent filing from the company suggests that Microsoft is working on new features for its outlook. However, the patent filing doesn’t mean that we will witness new products as it can just be an enhancement of some features.

AI Features in Calendar

Microsoft Outlook is planning to add more AI features to its calendar which will make it easier to set meetings. Right now the Outlook calendar will spot any possible meeting time conflicts if a new meeting is being set up. With the introduction of the new feature, Outlook calendar will be able to suggest a suitable time and date set up a meeting.

In the patent filing, the company said that they will generate proposed calendar events with an electronic calendar. The new features if incorporated in the Outlook calendar will make it a lot easier to schedule meetings on a date. There are times when back-and-fro conversations regarding meeting time can be extremely exhausting. With the new feature, setting up a meeting time will be easier.

Calendar Events

Microsoft is also updating Outlook calendar events where you will get more ideas for any particular event. If your calendar has an event locked for a flight scheduled, then you will get suggestions for booking hotels or cabs. Similarly, if you have an event booked for a meeting then you will get suggestions to make notes for the meeting. The more events you lock in your calendar the more options you will get. The basic continuity idea revolves around coming up with different ideas

However, we will have to wait and see whether such features will be introduced. Patents often don’t end up being converted to products so don’t keep your hopes high.
