Currently, Microsoft has gone on to release Windows 10 SDK Preview Build 17677 to developers. This particular SDK can be easily used with Windows 10 Insider Build 17677 or later. This release comes with numerous bug fixes as well as underdevelopment changes to the API surface area. This SDK can now be formally being supported only by Visual Studio 2017 and greater.
This release comes with the all-new LauncherOptions.GroupingPreference property in order to help your application in tailoring itself for Sets.
This release also includes some major changes to the C/C++ ETW code generation of mc.exe (Message Compiler)
Things to look out for in this build:
- This build works in conjunction with previously released SDKs and Visual Studio 2017. You can install this SDK and still also continue to submit your apps that target Windows 10 Creators build or earlier to the store.
- The Windows SDK will now formally only be supported by Visual Studio 2017 and greater. You can download the Visual Studio 2017 here.
- This build of the Windows SDK will install on Windows 10 Insider Preview and supported Windows operating systems.
