It’s the end of September and Microsoft is all set to release the next feature update next month. The company is still in the process of finalizing the development of Windows 10 version 1909. People have already spotted Windows 10 19H2 Build 18363.356 ESD on WSUS.
The regular release schedule suggests that Microsoft will start its release to production devices in the early days of October. As of now, Microsoft has not announced any official name but the default naming convention indicates that it might be named Windows 10 October 2019 Update.
This version isn’t going to be more than a monthly cumulative update, but Microsoft recommends its users to install it. For those who are wondering, this is what 19H2 could bring for your systems.
What To Expect In Windows 10 19H2?
Action Center & Flyout Enhancements
The new Calendar flyout will enable you to create events directly from the taskbar. The release also brings some Action Center improvements. The top of the Action Center now has a new Manage notifications button.
The update improves the notification sorting capability for the list of apps in the notifications settings page. Furthermore, Windows 10 can now use the notification toast or the Action Center to turn off notifications for an application.
Updated Lock Screen
This update is going to update your lock screen with an interesting feature. Windows 10 users will soon get the ability to activate third-party digital assistants directly from the Lock screen.
Improved File Explorer Search
Microsoft has improved File Explorer’s search functionality in Windows 10 19H2. It integrates File Explorer’s search results with OneDrive contents. The integration is done with the help of Windows Search.
Performance and Battery Life
The Redmond giant has addressed battery life issues for 2-in-1s and laptops. Additionally, the update brings significant improvements in terms of power efficiency for systems running some processors.
Moreover, Microsoft has also resolved performance issues for some Intel processor-powered PCs.
System Requirements
All those users who are running Windows 10 version 1903 are expected to install Windows 10 19H2 without any issues.
The upcoming Windows 10 version 1909 is expected to be a minor feature update with comparatively few features. Therefore, the system requirements would remain the same. These requirements are often raised when Microsoft includes tons of new features in the feature updates.
