Why Metroid Prime 4 Was Not Shown At Nintendo E3 2018 Event?

The Game Is Still In development

Metroid Prime 4 is one of the games that Nintendo has been working on and it is no secret. Fans expected to see a trailer for the game at E3 2018 but that did not happen.  Senior product marketing manager for Nintendo America, Bill Trinen mentioned why that as the case and according to him the game is still in development.

Though this is something that we know, you can check out his exact words, which were as follows:

I think the main thing is, as people have probably realized by now – we show things when we think we’re ready to show them. And when we think we’re ready to show Metroid Prime, we’ll show Metroid Prime.

It seems that Nintendo will no longer be showing off the just the logos of upcoming games as a reveal and will only be showing content related to upcoming games when the company thinks that they are ready to show it. This does make sense, as creating false hype around a game can end up killing it. Trinen further went on to say that:

Last year was the first year for Switch at E3, so we took a bit of a departure from our usual approach to E3, which is to focus on more near-term stuff. Last year, because it was the first year for the hardware, we looked at things that were maybe a little further out. This year, you can see pretty clearly, we’re back to focusing on the near-term. We’ll have more to share with Metroid Prime 4 when we have something we think is going to wow people.

While Metroid Prime 4 has not been shown at E3 2018, there is still a lot of hype around the game and this is one of the titles that people are interested in checking out when it comes out. We will let you know more about Metroid Prime 4 as the game does further into development, so stay tuned for further information regarding the game and all that it will have to offer.

Nintendo did have some stuff to show off at E3 2018 but most of the content that we saw at the event was stuff that we already knew about.
