While the X470 series motherboards are for enthusiasts, the AMD B450 motherboards are cheaper and for mainstream users. Many AMD B450 motherboards have been shown off at Computex 2018 and these include AMD B450 motherboards from Asus, ASRock, MSI and Gigabyte. Here we are going to look into all of them.
These motherboards are expected to come out before the end of July. If you were interested in getting an AMD Ryzen build but were put off by the expensive motherboards then waiting a bit longer will do the trick. The MSI B450 Tomahawk and B450-A Pro motherboards were on display at Computex 2018. While the pricing of the motherboards has not been revealed, you can expect to get these for less than $100.
Moving on we have AMD B450 motherboards from Asus. Here we have the Asus ROG Strix B450-F gaming, which is much like the older version but with the new BIOS and support for 2000 series AMD Ryzen CPUs. Motherboards are pretty much identical to the old ones but this one comes with a USB C connector as well as Intel LAN and Realtek sound.
An AMD B450 motherboard has also been teased by Gigabyte and it has all the bells and whistles that the rest of the lot have to offer. The RGB on the motherboard has been reduced to a fair amount and we can see the first PCIe slot has been reinforced in order to support the GPU better.
The AMD press conference at Computex 2018 is just a few hours away and you can expect to see some pretty cool announcements at the event. Other than that, we should get some new motherboard announcements after the conference is over.
While you might not be getting all the bells and whistles that the X470 platform has to offer, the AMD B450 motherboards have plenty of options for you to play around with. Stay tuned for further information regarding AMD B450 motherboards.
