LG Announces The 2021 Gram: Three Sizes, Intel 11th Gen Chipsets & 12 Hour Battery Backup

LG isn’t a company you may go to when buying a laptop. They changed this dynamic though in the form of the LG Gram. The laptops from LG performed excellently, gave huge battery backups and the best part: they were light and compact. They managed to keep them around the 1KG mark, something that is a feat on its own. Not to mention, the bigger models could even support an i7 Processor. Now, ahead of the digital CES, the company has announced its upcoming series of devices for the year 2021.

According to this report from WinFuture.mobi, the company is introducing a completely revamped lineup with models ranging from 14, 16 and 17-inch machines.

Additionally, these would be IPS panels which would feature a tall aspect ratio display. The smaller ones would have a resolution of 1920×1200 while the bigger models would be capped at 2560×1600. For the 14-inch and 16-inch variants, the company is planning on introducing 2-in-1 models which would come in later. These would have support for a stylus and the word is that they would come with WACOM AES 2.0 stylus right out of the box.

As for the internals of the machines, these would be outfitted with i5 and i7 chips from Intel. These would be the latest 11th generation ones. The x86 architecture would make sure the laptops have great battery life. The 14-inch model would have a 72Wh battery while the bigger ones have an 80Wh battery. This would mean that these can give a backup of about 12 hours or more. This would be a good competitor for Apple’s M1 chips, that’s for sure. For the ports, we would see 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 2 USB-A ports and finally a memory card reader which may or may not have support for UFS cards. LG Grams would have WiFi 6 capabilities but there is no sign of an LTE or 5G modem.

The company has not announced a timeline or a release date but this seems to be the case right now. We would know for sure as we move ahead with the event.
