While the rumor and leak train continue to circle around Apple and Google for their upcoming flagships, a contender is ignored. Not really considered a big boy in the league, the Xiaomi Mi Mix series has pioneered many designs and aesthetics when it comes to smartphones. It is a fact that Mi Mix was the first phone to embody a bezel-less design. Although the device did feature an awkwardly placed front camera, that was rectified in the 3rd rendition of the phone.
Today, according to leaks posted on Gizmochina, the upcoming smartphone would feature some interesting specs.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4
Firstly, talking about the design of the phone. Like the previous year, it would have a bezel-less display. Unlike the previous year though, the design would be similar to Oppo’s Waterfall display (originating from Samsung’s curved style on its devices). Leaks suggest that the screen would be a 2K panel and like most flagships today, running at a higher refresh rate. The report says that the screen would refresh at 90Hz, much like the competition today. Although there aren’t any reports of the display size, it may be safe to assume that it would be similar to last year’s dimensions.
Coming to the next big reveal: the camera. A while back, Xiaomi teased about a 100-megapixel camera on its device. Today, according to the report, this device would be the Mi Mix 4. It is stated that the sensor would be a Samsung one and one that hasn’t been used before. There arent many details about the front sensor. It is, however, true that the company would ditch the sliding mechanism. Instead, similar to the common trend Xiaomi would use a pop-up style selfie camera.
Other details in the report include the inclusion of a 40W charging brick with the device. It would allow fast charging for the device, which may just have a 4000mAh battery, according to the trend. Like the previous version, the body would be made out of ceramic and since we enter into the last quarter of the year, a Snapdragon 855+ processor. The phone would also come with 12GB RAM and an option to get 1TB of storage. Out of the box, according to the leaks, it would support 5G connectivity.
