The Last Of Us Part 1 Reportedly Has ‘No Gameplay Improvements’

The Last of Us is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is quite popular as a Playstation exclusive.

Naughty Dog received quite a lot of criticism from the fans regarding the second iteration of this series. Screenshots from the remake of the first part, namely The Last of Us Part I surfaced last night. Many believe that this game will suffer the same fate.

A closer look at the images shows that Naughty Dog isn’t just improving the texture quality and the texture detail, additional improvements are being made to the environment as is highlighted by the last image.

The leaker also mentions that the game will feature no “no gameplay improvements” and the primary focus will be on bumping up the graphics to make the game look on par with the games from this generation. While this is a bit disappointing, one should not expect a completely fresh out of the box game experience from a ‘remake‘. The game will feature a native 4K/40fps fidelity mode and a dynamic 4K/60fps performance mode. Support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) will also be included.

While many do consider any remake merely a cash grab, The Last Of Us Part 1 (remake) could be underway to make the game look pleasing on the latest generation of consoles and to appeal to the newer audience in Sony’s ecosystem.
