Intel i9 9900K Beats 8700K In Ashes Of The Singularity 4K Benchmark

But Only By A Small Margin

The Intel i9 9900K is going to be the top of the line chip that is going to come out in the 9th generation of Intel processors and it is also the first time that Intel is bringing an i9 chip into the mainstream. It is also the first time that Intel is going to release an 8-core CPU into the mainstream market in order to compete with AMD Ryzen.

The Intel i9 9900K is said to be coming out next month but while we wait we have a leaked Ashes of the Singularity 4K benchmark that shows how well the CPU holds up at 4K against the previous generation 8700K.

It is worth noting here that even though the 8700K was the top of the line SKU in the previous generation, it still only had 6 cores. The Intel i9 9900K, on the other hand, comes with 2 additional cores so it should have a major advantage when it comes to this benchmark. You can check out the benchmark below:

The Intel i9 9900K is able to pull ahead in the overall results but only by 100 points and keeping in mind that this CPU is going to cost you around $500, it is up to you to decide whether or not this is a valuable upgrade over the 8700K.

It is worth noting that this is an unreleased CPU so the performance gets better when drivers are updated and the CPU is properly supported. It is also worth mentioning that this is indeed a leak and not an official benchmark so you should take this with a grain of salt.

If these chips are indeed going to come out next month then we should be able to find out what the Intel i9 9900K has to offer but if this is the performance that we are going to get at the end of the day then I think that this CPU is going to be a tough sell when compared to the 8700K.

It will be interesting to see what kind of performance this upcoming core i9 chip will have to offer and how it will compare to the AMD Ryzen 7 series that have been offering 8 cores for more than a year now.
