Intel Expands Collaboration With SAP In Cloud Computing Capabilities

Intel has taken advantage of the expanding cloud computing industry by forming a strategic alliance with SAP, a large international software corporation.

Intel and SAP SE today announced a strategic collaboration to deliver more powerful and sustainable SAP® software landscapes in the cloud. Designed to help customers derive greater scalability, agility and consolidation of existing SAP software landscapes

The partnership strengthens Intel’s commitment to provide highly effective and secure SAP instances driven by 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Intel’s 4th Generation Xeon processors offer much greater performance statistics compared to prior generations of Xeon processors when running SAP Application Performance Standard benchmarks.

SAP customers with 4th Gen Xeon processors can enjoy faster processing speeds and improved performance with up to 38% CPU power savings1, while also benefiting from the scalability and flexibility of the cloud.

4th Generation Xeon Scalable processors are a benchmark in the industry due to in-built accelerators in the market. They help companies to optimize their business resource planning while reducing the total cost of ownership

By working with Intel and our joint infrastructure-as-a-service partners, we are able to bring the best of our respective technologies together to create a truly innovative and powerful cloud computing solution for our customers.

In addition to working together on bigger instance types in the cloud, Intel and SAP will investigate use cases for using confidential computing for SAP Cloud, SAP’s database-as-a-service offering, to meet future needs for increased data protection and encryption.
