Instagram has probably taken over Facebook when it comes to a platform people use to scroll through. After all, if you look at your screen usage, you’ll see these apps taking up most of the time. People would be scrolling through posts on their feed or skipping through stories. While some may be interesting to watch, others are just people or businesses resharing their posts. “New Post!” flickering on your screen for a post which you probably scrolled through a while back. Yes, it does get annoying and probably most people skip right through it.
Now, Instagram turns to solve this issue, perhaps. According to this post on Android Police, the company is looking to prevent people from resharing their posts on their stories. They claim that a lot of users have complained about this. These types of companies take their user satisfaction quite seriously. After all, user retention is directly related to this. The competition is pretty tough too (looking at you, TikTok). Anyway, right now, this is not a wide rollout. Instead, it is just a regional testing phase that some users have reported. This would give them insight into how people may react to it.
instagram users: I wish people stopped sharing so many feed posts to their Stories

This, while it does make it easy for the users, it doesn’t work well with brands working solely on Instagram. It is true that a bunch of small business owners make use of this platform. And why shouldn’t they, it is easy. Throw in a couple of influencers and they’re set. But today, with so many meme pages and so on, they have it hard to make it to your feed and being placed on the algorithm. To counter this, they post stories, sharing their posts and more often than not, it is pretty useful. Now, let’s see how it turns out in the months to come.
