Insider Implies That Xbox Showcase Is Imminent

Update: All that hype for nothing!
Xbox fans once again met disappointment; Jez Corden Tweeted an update about the ongoing news that Xbox will announce its showcase soon.

According to the latest tweet by Jez, he misinterpreted the information about something big coming from Xbox this week as that big announcement was Oreo’s collaboration with Xbox and not a showcase announcement.

Although this collaboration will offer Xbox-themed Oreo cookies in 22 countries starting from 16th January 2023. On top of that, as part of this collaboration, these special cookie packs will unlock Oreo-themed In-game cosmetics in games like Halo Infinite, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 5.

Original Story

2022 was a slow year for Xbox fans, as no significant AAA title was released on the platform. Also the absence of Xbox at The Game Awards upset the fans as Sony utilized that opportunity to reveal news about expansions coming to existing PlayStation games and some indie titles that will be released for PlayStation 5.

Undoubtedly, Microsoft has announced some highly anticipated first-party AAA games for Xbox, including Starfield, Redfall, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Minecraft Legends, and Forza Motorsport. Still, a proper release date has yet to be confirmed for any of these titles, making it harder for Xbox fans who are anxiously waiting for these games.

However, there have been rumors about an Xbox showcase in the first quarter of 2023 for a long time, and well-known industry insiders like Jez Corden and Rand al Thor are the ones to start this fire. This week again, Jez Corden has started dropping hints on his Twitter that an Xbox exclusive event is imminent. On January 6th, 2023, Jez replied to a tweet concerned about no Xbox showcase news.

You shouldn’t be waiting too long, but maybe showcase is a strong word. Direct maybe? Not sure on the scale yet, but don’t expect like a huge E3 show.

Today again, Jez Corden, in a Twitter thread about Xbox future games, hinted that something is definitely cooking behind the scenes.

He added:

Besides Jez, Vice President of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg tweeted last month, which suggests that Microsoft will soon reveal the games coming to Xbox in 2023.

We have a lot planned to show and share about an incredibly exciting year ahead for 2023. Appreciate folks are eager to learn and see more. Timing is always key, but don’t worry you will not have to wait too long for what’s next from us.

It is advised to take this news with a grain of salt until further confirmation from Microsoft.

Nevertheless, there is a lot of chatter about an Xbox showcase in early 2023, and fans are impatiently waiting for a good look at some of the most awaited Xbox games that are expected to release in 2023. It will be interesting to see an exclusive Xbox showcase in the coming days or weeks before the mega E3 event in summer that will definitely reveal Xbox’s long-term plans.
