Swedish multinational group IKEA has just announced that they are partnering up with ASUS ROG to develop a new line of Gaming furniture.

In a blog post, IKEA highlighted that around the globe there are 2.5 billion gamers. Similarly, the requirement of good quality and affordable gaming furniture has been overlooked. Before they started to design and develop these products. The company had several meetings with professional gamers. Who highlighted certain products and various functions that were needed. IKEA says they have recognized this problem, and in partnership with ROG, they will now full fill this demand.
ASUS and IKEA together will develop 30 products that will focus on providing comfort to gamers. This new range of gaming furniture will be developed in Shanghai, China. Likewise, the products will also be first released in China in February 2021. The worldwide release for the entire lineup is October 2021.
Ewa Rychert, Global Business leader of Workspaces clarified that games aren’t violent. She concluded that gaming is very good for mental health and its a source of relaxation. The Team at IKEA is inspired to provide a new range of gaming products that will further help players In getting relaxed and enjoy the benefits of playing games.
Ewa Rychert said that “There are a lot of existing conventions about gaming which are often stereotypical or negative, for example, all the games are built on violence, gaming is asocial and it is predominantly a men’s activity. In fact, figures show that gaming is among the most truly cross-demographic activities, and it can improve an individual’s mental health and general well-being”
The announcement has not listed any specific product, but we all know. Products will start from gaming chairs all the way to tables and various comfort-related components.
The man behind ASUS Gaming Gears Kris Huang shared few words saying that “Together with IKEA as an expert in home furnishing, we envision that this collaboration will create synergies that empower gamers to build the gaming space they have always imagined in the comfort of their own homes.”
