How to: Remove Babylon Toolbar

Babylon toolbar has spread rapidly in short interval of time, the main cause of this is installing the third party extensions in your browser, some security utilities categorize the Babylon toolbar as a malware, although technically it isn’t malware, but it does exhibit plenty of malicious traits in your system. Like the rootkit capabilities to hook deep into the operating system, hijacking web browser, and in general just interfering with the user experience. It is generally referred as a “PUP, meaning, Potentially Unwanted Program.

Regardless of how dangerous and annoying it may sound, it can easily be removed by using the ADWCleaner utility which you can download from here.

Steps to scan your PC and Registry using AdwCleaner

Download and install the Adwcleaner utility.

Launch the application.

(Note: You can scan the program with your antivirus before running the application for any potential threat)

Upon launching the application, simply click on Scan

Wait for the scan to complete. Scanning will take some time, depending on the size of data on your computer.

After scanning is complete, Click Clean

Follow the instructions on the screen in order to reboot your computer.

After restarting the computer, hold on to the Windows + R button at the same time in order to open the Run dialog. You can also manually open the run dialog by going to search bar and typing Run in the search box.

In the Run dialog type in inetcpl.cpl and click OK

Internet Properties dialog will open; choose “Delete Personal Settings” and hit the reset button. This will not delete the bookmarks; so don’t worry.
