Grab Year One Rainbow Six Siege Operators at a Discounted Price

Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft’s operator-based first person shooter, is currently in its third season of the third year. As more and more operators are added to the game, the developers have begun offering discounts on the previous ones. Starting from September 25th 2018 till March 4th 2019, the original year one operators will be available to purchase at a reduced price.

A total of eight operators from the first four seasons, Black Ice, Dust Line, Skull Rain, and Red Crow are currently available to purchase cheaply. The list of operators is as follows:

  • Frost
  • Buck
  • Valkyrie
  • Blackbeard
  • Capitao
  • Caveira
  • Hibana
  • Echo

The discounted price applies to both renown, the in-game free currency, and R6 Credits, the premium currency. The nearly 50% discount takes the renown cost of each operator down from 25,000 to 15,000 renown per operator. The cost for R6 Credits has also been reduced from 600 to 360 R6 Credits per operator.

Since launch, over 20 new operators have joined team Rainbow in the form of free seasonal updates. Every new operator added costs 25,000 Renown, which equates to approximately 8-10 hours of normal playtime (without using boosters).

Previously, the base operators of the game would occasionally be up for discounts, allowing new players to unlock them all quickly. Shortly after, however, Ubisoft kicked it up a notch and unlocked the original operators for everyone, excluding Starter Edition owners. This change, together with the removal of the weapon attachment purchase system, allowed people to save renown for more important purchases, like DLC operators or Alpha Packs.

While the time window provided is definitely a long one, the discount is only temporarily. Be sure to pick up the year one operators that you want before March next year.
