GPU Turbo For Huawei Mate 9/P10 Will Deliver 60% More Efficiency, 30% Decrease In Power Consumption

Ideal For Gamers On The Go

Huawei has taken the mobile market by storm and you must have noticed the company come out of nowhere and introduce all kinds of smartphones from the entry-level models to the high-end flagships. Now Huawei is working on GPU Turbo and this technology will increase the efficiency of devices by 60%. That is a huge bump and will increase battery life as Huawei claims that power consumption will decrease by 30%.

Huawei uses pretty big batteries and this means that the battery time will last longer on a single charge as compared to before. GPU Turbo is not something new and we have seen this in laptop and desktop CPUs. The gist is that when the device is idle the CPU runs at the base clock speed, using less power. When the user does an intensive task, then the CPU uses more power and ramps up the clock speeds.

This boost in performance can help out when multitasking or using intensive applications. When it comes to mobile, gaming can be very graphics intensive and that is how GPU Turbo is going to help out. It will keep the GPU core at a base clock when not in use and ramp up the frequency once you use an intensive app, like a game for example.

GPU Turbo functionality is limited to select devices at the moment but it is being added to Huawei Mate 9/P10. In 2018 we have seen that more companies are marketing their phones as gaming phones as more people are gaming on their smartphone. It is easy to do, you always have your smartphone with you and so you can imagine why this technology is so important. Testing the technology with PUBG Mobile showed better FPS and longer battery life. This is great for every smartphone gamer.

As the technology matures, more smartphones will come with this feature. The results speak for themselves. You might not notice them at times but they are there. Once you own a device with this tech, it is going to be hard to go back, especially if you regularly play games on your smartphone.
