The GIGABYTE RTX 4090 Is Already Up For Sale In Hong Kong

NVIDIA announced its Ada Lovelace GPUs on the 20th of September. The initial launch lineup of the RTX 4000 series consists of the RTX 4090 and the RTX 4080 16GB/12GB. While we’re still waiting for the kingpin 4090 to retail by the 12th of October, some people in Hong Kong reportedly have their hands on the GPU.

Meet the GIGABYTE RTX 4090

Over at lihjk, a post surfaced showcasing the GIGABYTE RTX 4090 GAMING OC. The monstrosity features a 3-4 slot design packed with GIGABYTE’s Windforce cooling system. Inside the GPU lies a vapor chamber in direct contact with the GPU, coupled with heat pipes for effective heat dissipation.

The box also features a 4×8 to the 16 pin 12VHPWR connector which reportedly has a relatively short life span. The GPU is packed with an anti sag bracket for the massive size it boasts.

Behind the GPU we find find that it is protected by a strong metallic backplate with a slight opening for enhanced airflow. In addition to that, the back also showcases NVIDIA’s new font, namely NVIDIA Sans NALA.

Worth the Trouble?

If you manage to buy the RTX 4090 before launch then here’s something you should know beforehand. The official drivers will go live by the 12th of October so you’ll essentially be stuck with a handicapped 4090. To make matters worse, the GPU may straight up fail even with the current drivers. Therefore, that is a risk you should account for.

The RTX 4090

NVIDIA’s top of the line RTX 4090 is powered by the AD102-300-A1 GPU. Fueled by 16384 Cuda cores and 24GB of G6X memory clocked at 21Gbps, this behemoth wreaks havoc on even the most demanding titles. NVIDIA has promised a 2-4x performance uplift as compared to last-gen. The validity of such claims will only be proven by reviewers.
