Let It Die is a free to play hack and slash role playing game developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. The game was originally released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive title in 2016. In a report by GameSpot, developer Grasshopper Manufacture and publisher GungHo Online announced that Let It Die will be released on the PC via Steam this fall.
Let It Die
Let It Die, set in a post-apocalyptic world, follows the player as they survive against enemies in this fog infested world. A large tectonic disturbance caused mass destruction and a large spire to erupt from the ground. The player must climb this tower, fighting enemies along the way with help from a companion grim reaper named Uncle Death. The player starts off in their underwear, and unlocks weapons and armor as they progress through the game.
The differentiating factor of Let It Die from other hack and slash games is the “death data” mechanic. When a player dies, their death data can appear in other players’ games where the player appears as an enemy. While the original player loses all their progress and starts from square one, their previous character retains all progress and can appear in other players’ games. This means that aside from managing hunger and fighting enemies, there exists the possibility of you running into the dead characters of other players.
Let It Die on the PlayStation 4 is considered a success after topping two million downloads in February 2017 and over four million in April 2018. Since its launch, developer Grasshopper Manufacture have consistently updated the game, with the latest one deployed just last month. New events, content and features point towards Let It Die having a fruitful future on PC.
With such a successful life on the PlayStation 4, we can expect that the game will be well received on the PC. Let It Die launches for the PC via Steam this fall. Learn more about the game on the official Let It Die website.
