Ubisoft’s medieval combat game For Honor is approaching the release of its Marching Fire expansion. Ahead of its release on October 16th, Ubisoft announced the ‘open test’ for Marching Fire which starts on September 6th. The open test campaign is playable by everyone and gives players a preview of the upcoming content.
Last week, Ubisoft announced that Marching Fire will launch alongside a new mode called Arcade. In the expansion, a new faction as well as a new 4v4 game mode called ‘Breach’ will be added. Although the open test of Marching Fire will not be the final version, players have access to nearly all content including minor new additions.
In the test phase, players can play the new Breach game mode on three new maps: Walled City, Hallowed Bastion, and Kazan Castle. New factions, totaling for 22 playable warriors, from Wu Lin, Knights, Vikings, and Samurais are part of the open test. Aside from the additional content, minor quality of life improvements such as a new perk system, UI and graphical improvements and new dialog systems will be available in the testing phase. Although the new Arcade mode will not be a part of the open test, players can battle it out in Duel or the new Breach game modes.
The For Honor Marching Fire open test will be available to everyone, including non owners of the game, starting next week. The test will run from September 6th 8 AM EDT to September 10th 5 PM EDT. The game can be downloaded on uPlay and Steam and pre-loads will be available via the former starting September 4th.
For Honor Marching Fire releases on October 16th, and owners of the expansion can avail early access to the new content. Parts of the expansion, such as the new Breach mode, will be available to all players for free, while other features will need ownership of the expansion.
