  1. Open an eleveted command prompt by pressing the Start button, typing cmd and then opening as a administrator.

    dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  3. Reboot your PC and try to run Windows Update again to confirm if the issue has been rectified.
