ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED is an error which comes up when the site you are trying to visit cannot support the SSLv3 (Secure Socket Layer) on the browser. Some sites will work, but certain sites wont. Now there are several causes which could be the cause of the issue but the most common one is related to the SSL. Also possible is that your firewall, windows or third party may be blocking the site as well which you should check manually or reset it.
In this guide, i will walk you through two methods, follow each of it to see which one resolves the issue.
Chrome and Chromium used to have a setting in preferences to let the user specify the preferred protocol, but people allegedly thought that SSL 3.0 was a higher version than TLS 1.0 and would mistakenly disable the latter.
Disable SSLv3 (Windows)
1. Right click the Google Chrome icon and select Properties.
2. In the Target field, under the Shortcut tab at the end after the last ” add a space and then add –ssl-version-min=tls1.
3. Click OK and confirm the changes. Now, when you will open Google Chrome it will run with SSLv3 Disabled.
After disabling SSLv3, power off your modem/router (which ever is the main source of internet) and then power it back on.
If the issue is still not resolved after follow the steps above then go to Control panel -> Uninstall a Program -> View Installed Updates and locate the update: KB2992611
Double click on the update and uninstall it.
